I am so tired of only drinking water. Are there any drinks that I can have besides IC friendly tea or pear juice. I am craving something else besides water for a cold beverage. Any suggestions?
Love reading everyones ideas on IC friendly recipes. Thanks
Robin

I drink Passion Fruit Juice cocktail. Its real good, but I suspect it would bother some people. For me its fine but we are all different. Just a suggestion!

Thanks for the ideas! Some days I get down thinking of the pop and coffee I can't have and water is so boring. I will remember your ideas and keep telling myself I am not the only one that has to live w/o pop!!!

I also can drink the A&W root beer. I also drink the Celestial Seasonings tea-- Honey Vanilla Chamomile flavor tea. (Not as good as coffee -- specially on a cold morning like it was today- just recently gave up decaf coffee about 4 months ago and I sure miss it - especially on days like today!)
Mellita has a new ground coffee that's lower in caffeine and 45% lower acid. I can have a cup without any problems, provided I take a couple of Prelief before. It's a very find grind, and you only need a tiny bit to make a cup. Good thing, since it isn't cheap. It's pretty good - not the "real" thing, but I'm glad I found it, because the "real" thing is really bad for my bladder!
I drink a lot of Tropicana Strawberry Melon. It has 5% fruit juice (pear) and a little citric acid. I can usually handle it though as long as I only drink it every other day.
I actually use the peppermint tea to make iced tea with and it's really good. The last time I had it though I think I had too much in a short period of time and I think it make me flare though it usually doesn't. If you have it in moderation though it sound be fine and it's really yummy. Hope you find something you like. I get like that once in awhile too but for the most part I have just gotten used to drinking the water.

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.
I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

I love almond milk. It's so good. I also love vanilla soy milk. Why is soy not good for us? I have been wondering about that for a while because it seems like soy lechin is in everything. Milk shakes are a nice idea for a cold drink. I usually get vanilla, but there are many icecreams we can have. There's Blueberry cheesecake, Pumpkin, Creme Brulee, Peppermint and more.
I found it at a store that's part of a local grocery store chain. They have a few more unusual items than the chain stores around here (Giant Eagle, etc).
