  • I'm starting Curves!!!!!!!!

Hey gals... Pray for me... I'm starting Curves.. This is a 30 min exercise program designed for women only. My target weight loss is 16 lbs by June 1st, wish me luck. I pray that none of the machines will irritate my bladder or pelvic area... Has anyone out there been involved in this program before. If so, please give advice... God Bless

I was a member there for a couple of years. I loved it! Like Ronda said, it's private, without the pressure of men being there. Very laid back place. Good luck

Good luck at Curves! And even if there are some machines or exercises that might irritate your bladder, you should be able to substitute something else in its place. It sounds like you have a very realistic and healthy goal.

One thing I always do when dieting is give myself a "day off." Once a week (or two weeks, if you prefer), allow yourself to eat whatever you want (within the IC diet, of course). This will help satisfy your cravings and give you something to look forward to. The reason this works is because usually you'll end up eating less than you thought anyway and you won't be tempted to binge on your cravings at a later time. Also, sometimes your body will get so used to the healthy, low fat diet that you surprise it on "off day" and it will clean out your system.

Let me know if curves works for you. I have lost 50 pounds and need something to help me loose about 50 more. My family prac. says to not worry about losing the weight just exercise and eat right. On March 5 our outdoor pool should be open again for water aerobics. It has been closed because soom people said it is to cold at 7:30 in the morning to go swimming.
Plus it takes at least 3 of us to take the cover off. The bad side of this for me is here it is time to exercise. I will go their Mon and on Tues I start PT for PFD. Then April I have a Hydro. The ladies are going to not think I am dedicated again. If I can loose the 50 pds. then I am thinking about getting breast reconstruction due to masectomy for cancer. If the pool doesn't work curves is my next choose. The flare I have been in lately I don't know whats going to help.

          HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU

Day 1 at Curves, Good luck Big Red..

Hey ladies... My appointment is at 9:30 so I'm geared up and so excited to go workout this morning. I will let you know how it is going. My husband and I took all my measurements last night and I weighed this morning so this way I can keep track of my progress.... Thank you all for your encouragement. I really do want this to benefit me!!! Thanks for your prayers... God Bless,

Good Luck to Big Red, you can do it. Do you have a Curves Program near you? Right now, the Curves program here in IL will waive the $149 membership fee if you bring in a bad of nonperishable groceries for a food drive they are hosting. So all I am having to pay is $34 a month, but I am locked in for 1 year. This should keep me accountable to going... Good Luck

That all sounds great. Did you find that most of the exercises didn't irritate your bladder? With the whether getting nicer soon, I want to start riding my bike to work again and I'm a little nervous.

I have been doing water aerobics for a few years now. The only thing I have a had time with is doing alot of leg movements that pounds on the pool floor. Were are you going in Riverside? I go to Perris High School pool at 7:30 in the morning and the most fun is its outdoors.

It should help. The instructor might have ideas. Only do what your body will let you. Hope you enjoy.
