I think there isn't enough carbs with this diet. Imagine you would lose 30 pounds fast but that is because you aren't eatting much really. It sounds like a lot on paper but on the plate it is just table scraps left from everyone elses meals. I need to make more bran muffins. I like having them for lunch with peanut butter & honey. Along with fruit. I seem to do better too if I have ice cream in the afternoon. I read where more bran you eat the fuller you feel. I still do better with slim fast for breakfast. If I eat cereal, eggs or even oatmeal I get weak and shaky 2 hours afterwards and have to eat sweets to stop it. Boy, what happened to the days of dieting fast and getting the weight off easily? Did you see the info commercial about a guy who wrote a book where you eat all kinds of food for I think 7 weeks to reset your gland of some sorts. You lose lots of weight with that one too and at the end of the 7th week you are not supposed to crave anything. Just eat normally. The book costs $29.95 and I'm not about to spend that much. Maybe the library will have it.

Bummer huh? I find the best plans involve lots of eating - small meals throughout the day so you can keep up your energy level and stave off the munchies (which I have a weakness for, lol). You shouldn't feel shaky!! Ah shoot, at work I just read a good article in Good Housekeeping, on foods to help you manage weight, etc. Of course I can't remember what they all were now!!! ARGH! I do know they recommended 2 eggs with toast for breakfast, as it keeps you fuller longer and they said in a study that women who ate that for breakfast ate fewer calories over all the next 36 hours... Look out eggs, here I come!! Chickens, get ready! LMAO!!! Beans were also mentioned and recommended highly... I'll have to bring my mag back home tomorrow, lol.

Well, this diet won't work. I'm too weak, tired and shaky. Plus with all the water in waaaaaaaaay to much pain and having to pee every 15 minutes. Sounded good but won't work with my body.

Hey Mary! What I'd do is search for a recipe online for it and go from there, just using what you have on hand! I love the premade stuff, but I never have tahini around - shoot in my area I have never seen it at the grocery! lol so I skip it when I make mine. I just go with some olive oil, garlic and little bit of salt. Taste's pretty good to me! White beans also make a great dip prepared the same way.

I too have read the icewater thing, that it does take your body a few more calories to warm itself up, but I some how have a feeling it's not enough to make a huge difference, lol. But, water is my drink of choice, even before IC I was always found with a glass at home or a bottle of it when I was out and about!

I would have to say again, if ice water made people skinny, something tells me that doctors would know about it by now.

I have a can of chick peas. Wonder if I put them in the food processor they would turn out the same? It does sound yummy. Supposed to use that on veggies on the diet plan.

I have read though that drinking ice water, or any drink with ice, speeds up the metabolism b/c your body has to work to warm itself back up.

Yea, I think that Randi is right because if I drinking water speeded up matabolism then mine would be through the roof and I would be skinny from all the water I drink in one day, LOL! That's what I need, the diet where drinking lots of water and peeing all the time makes you lose weight, I'd look like a stick figure!

Water does NOT speed up metabolism. If it did we wouln't need to eat less and exercise more. It is supposed to fill uou up.

As you grow old your metabolism slows down.

I think about the only thing you can do to speed it up is gain muscle--or just not LOSE muscle. As we get older we lose it. I use weights a few times a weeks.

Hummus is a middle-eastern food composed of chickpeas, or garbanzo beans, and tahini, a paste similar in texture to peanut butter that is made from sesame seeds. Hummus is typically eaten with pita or other flat bread.

I eat the hummus spread on crackers like..Its really tasty..

I think the best way to describe humous is that it is a type of dip. I think it is Greek in origin. It is basically, Chickpeas, a little lemon, olive oil and garlic all blended together. If you shoud be able to find it in a health store. I think it is lovely as I don't eat dairy and eat it instead of mayonaise with salad. Some people may not be able to tolerate because of the lemon.

started a topic diet in Woman's World magazine

    diet in Woman's World magazine

Bought the magazine today and they have a list of what to eat for a day. Not a big list but a starter one. It says to drink lots of water too because that can boost your metabalism. I didn't know that. You are supposed to drink 2 glasses of water when you first get up and then one glass with each meal. You eat 6 small meals a day. Sure does look like an awful lot to eat but one woman lost I think 30 pounds in a month. That would be great! I could fit into everything by warm weather. It also said to weigh everyday. One of the items on the menu is hummus. What is it?
Working...
