Hey Angela, what I do is just watch what I eat - I stick with lots of healthy things, like veggies etc. But, when I do run across a plan in a magazine or whatever, I read through all of their recommendations for meals and whatnot - then I see what I can sub things with to make them friendly. I'll modify it to where it's safe for me, but still has the same benefits of being low-cal/low-fat and healthy!

I know there are others around here who are following plans etc, I am sure they will chime in with their ideas and experiences.
    Hugs,
    Tracey

In my experience, almost anyone can lose weight as long as they can balance what goes in with what is burned off.

I would try to find a dietician that knows about IC and OAB and ask them to work up what they think your Basal Metabolic Rate is. Then ask them to figure up how many calories they think you will burn with 3-4 mild intensity walking, yoga, or other gentle exercise you do.

Then ask them to help you adjust your caloric intake accordingly.

I find a free website called fitday.com to be very helpful in counting calories.

Since having pelvic pain for 11 months now, I have not been able to exercise like I used to. It just hurts too much. Add to that the Elavil I was on, but am now switched to Nortriptylene, I gained 10 lbs.

I used to be able to eat 2000 cals per day and not gain weight when I could exercise, but I've had to cut my calories way back to around 1500 a day. The weightloss has been slow, but I have lost 8 lbs of the 10.

I hope this information helps you.

Another helpful free to use website is www.sparkpeople.com. I know I love using it, and they have meals/meal plans to use and whatnot - and there are so many, I am sure you could build your own "diet" out of their ideas and just maybe have to sub a few no-no ingredients here and there with friendly ones!

If you want to loose weight a good rule of thumb is to not eat after 6pm. Drink a lot of water to flush you out. I have had a lot of sucess in the past with the special K diet (or choose a low fat health cereal of your choice). 1 bowl 4 breakfst,1 bowl 4 lunch and a grilled up dinner. I use the george forman grill because the food tastes so good without haing to add anything fattening to your meats and veges, the grill adds the flavor for you ( just add a little garlic and salt). You could grill chicken tenderloins with your choice of vege. and not feel guilty. Add in some scheduled exercise and see the results

Hello, I am a newbie here Not yet diagnosed with IC, but I have symptoms consistant with it, and I'm starting testing...

I've lost 45 lbs in the past year and a half. Most of my weight loss was on the Jenny Craig Diet, but you must eat their food and who knows what it has in it. Recently I joined the Weight Watchers "Core" plan. They also have a "Flex" plan. Both of their plans are VERY flexible. You can eat just about anything... just make choices and sacrafices to keep you within the limits. I am planning on incorporating IC Diet into my Weight Watchers Diet. A great website for Weight Watchers is http://www.dwlz.com/. I still have about 12 lbs to lose.

Good Luck with your weight loss, it's never easy, but always rewarding!
