  • fruit tums ok?

have bought a packet as thought this would be good when I can't have bicarb of soda in water.
But the only ones available were fruits ones.
I assume this is only flavouring but thought I'd ask you all and see if it has been okay for you?

And is it calcium carbonate that helps or the antacid?

There are other antacids like setlers and rennie - do they do the same job? http://www.expresschemist.co.uk/cate...rsandtums.html

The only caution I'd have with the fruit flavored ones would be if they had citric acid in them - you could check the ingredients to see.

            Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

I've been ok with them as well, but I just prefer the less-offensive taste of the mint ones.
