  • Roasted peppers

Hey I heard that roasted red peppers were a good substitute for
tomatoes in making a sauce for pizza. So I bought some in a jar
then I discovered that it has citric acid in them. Is it alright to
thoroughly rinse the Citric acid off the peppers and use them or not.

    Thanks, Paula

I wouldn't trust the jarred peppers. Rather, buy some red peppers and make your own! It's really easy...you can roast them in the oven or a gas flame until the skin is black (honestly), then let them rest and you'll be able to just pull off the skin. Tada...roasted red pepper.

I 2nd MIM's suggestion. Making your own insures you're not getting anything but what is safe for you.
