Homemade potato cheese soup and my blueberry Pie "mix-in" creation
Its so good and wholesome for the family

    potato cheese soup recipe:

boil water in a big pot, add two bags of frozen stew vegetables (or just do potatoes if you want). Once veges are tender, drain the water and add milk, enough to cover the veges. Place heat on med-med-high, once hot again add 1 can of swanson all natural chicken broth and next add in either velveta cheese or american cheese ( approx . 10-15 slices or 8 oz). Next add diced ham seak ( in the meat/steak secton usually). Allow ingredence to blend together while stiring often. Finally add salt, pepper (optional), and seasoning salt (optional), and a small amount of butter (optional). Season, then taste, and season again according to your preferences. For extra thickness place punctured potatoes, one at a time, in the microwave for 5 minutes or until soft, Then scoop the insides right into your soup and stir. Note that the soup will be best the next day so you can look foward to your leftovers. I like to make bisquick biscuits with it and serve them with butter ( I go with real butter) and honey. I like to eat my bowl of soup with half a sandwich too, you can dip it!!!

For dessert I love my blueberry creation:
bake a blueberry sara lee pie ( usually not expensive)
once mostly cooled, place a big scoop of light vanilla ice cream in a bowl, then mix pie in with 2 spoons- like how they do at coldstone creamery. Serve with whipping cream. So Yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    enjoy ! and take care,
    Dawn

      IC diet

Hello - I have just been diagnosied with IC and reccommended to have the 6 week treatment if the symtoms dont improve over the next month or so!
has anyone had this treatment? do you know how effective it is or whether ic is better controlled by diet???
      thanks

          Marie,
Are you talking about DMSO treatments? If so, I had them when I was first diagnosed and it didn't really help me. I know it does help some people and doesn't help others. Actually Jill just started a post about the controversy on DMSO treatments, you should read it.

          Good luck,
          Kari
PS- stick to the diet and see if you see improvement, it's probably one of the most effective treatments for most people.
