I really really cheirsh smoothies and I miss them sooo much!!! Does anyone have any good and "safe" smoothie recipes??? Maybe pear or a mild apple???
Thanks♥
Closest thing I've found is a vanilla milkshake with blueberries blended in it.
Wonder what it would taste like with canned pears & cinnamon blended in?

I tried a smoothie with frozen banana, frozen bluberries, milk and a bit of honey. It was pretty good. If I have a banana that is riper than I like to eat, I chop it and put it in the freezer - ready to go for a smoothie.
* 1 banana
* 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
* 1 cup milk
* 1 cup crushed ice
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine banana, chocolate syrup, milk and crushed ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
*you can replace the chocolate with strawberry syrup if you prefer it*
1. In a blender, combine frozen fruit, canned fruit and honey. Blend until smooth.
*mixed berries can be replaced with blueberries for low acid*
Mango Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
* 2 mangos - peeled, seeded and diced
* 2 cups plain yogurt
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 1 cup ice
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine mangos, yogurt, sugar and ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
Chocolate Covered Blueberry Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
* 1 cup skim milk
* 1 cup frozen blueberries
* 1 (1 ounce) envelope instant hot chocolate mix
* 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
DIRECTIONS
1. Pour the milk, blueberries, hot cocoa mix, and chocolate syrup into the container of a blender. Blend to desired consistency, and pour into a tall glass.
Peach Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
* 1 (15 ounce) can sliced peaches, drained
* 4 scoops vanilla ice cream
* 2 cups vanilla soy milk
* 1/4 cup orange juice
DIRECTIONS
1. In a blender, combine peaches, ice cream, soy milk and orange juice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.
*soy milk can be replaced with regular milk*
Blueberry Smoothie
INGREDIENTS
* 1 ripe medium banana
* 3/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
* 1/4 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
* 3/4 cup skim milk
* Pinch of cinnamon
* 1/2 cup crushed ice
DIRECTIONS
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth
Be extremely cautious if you try orange juice, peaches, or chocolate in a smoothie. I can have a banana sometimes, but not every day. Another filler that might work well is cottage cheese --- it gets very smooth in the blender. You could try adding blueberries or any other fruit you can tolerate. Also Torini and DaVinci syrups are delicious and they come in fruit flavors --- you can get them sugar free if you tolerate Splenda. I sometimes use vanilla ice cream, fruit flavored syrup, and a little milk to make a kind of smoothie/shake.

Wow, Christine, you are a very lucky IC patient if you can tolerate those recipes! Every one of those would send me into a mega flare! In addition to the chocolate, peaches, orange juice, & bananas ---- yogurt & soy can also be IC triggers.
TBN: A friend of mine sometimes cooks pears with cinnamon, then adds them to hot milk & blends. More of a warm drink than smoothie, but another idea...
