Hi, I'm new at this too but here's what I do for variation. Someone told me that I could try Peligrino (sp?) water has just a bit of fiz to it. Now and then I take a glass, fill it with ice, then some Peligrino water and a litter of root beer extract. For sweetnes I use a little splenda with equal amount of sugar. I don't seem to have a reaction to it. I have heard something about grape cool aid but haven't tried it yet. I was a great fan of non fat supreme milk until I realized I was having a reaction. I never suspected that it was the non fat supreme milk. I now try the 1% and do ok. You can always use some flavoring if it doesn't have citric acid or other problem ingredients. I seem to be ok with the low acid orange juice and I always use the prelief with it for a safe gauard. Hope this helps, you can pm me at [email protected]
Okay, thank you, that is great, I think I will try that. I've just been drinking water and milk, which I can tolerate, and I want to try something else.
ummm, I think my mom got some at Trader Joe's, I don't have a trader joe's around me though. I got mine at a discount store that I go to, lets go see what the name is, crap, I can't find the stuff that I was buying. The stuff my mom got me was from Trader Joe's though
Yeah, it is now about 1 hour after I drank the Kool-Aid with Splenda, and it did in fact make me worse! I can't believe it! Now I can't even drink that!
I tried the Kool-Aid recently and my bladder was on fire afterwards! No Kool-aid for me. I was really hoping though for something new to drink. The only thing I can tolerate is water and Gerber baby pear juice. I love it!
I've had luck with A&W root beer. I am OK with small amounts of grape Kool-Aid. It still increases my frequency, though. My hubby is a Kool-Aid fan and we're trying to be a bit more health conscious. I made some with Splenda and it got all clumpy. He said it was gross. I didn't try any.
1% milk is also a favorite aside from water. I've even been OK with 1% chocolate milk and instant hot chocolate. BUt, I have handle chocolate if I don't go crazy and eat a pound at a time. If I'm going riskier with some Sprite or caffeine-free Diet Coke, I usually take Prelief with it. I didn't add those things until my symptoms were more under control.

I used to drink peppermint and speramint tea alot. I would actually use the Mr Coffee iced tea maker to make iced tea with it. It was really yummy. I had horrible frequency one night after drinking a whole glass of it really fast at dinner so I stopped but I think it was probably the splenda and not the tea itself. I've been able to drink a little bit of sprite myself but some might not be able to tolerate it. I've been in such a yucky flare lately though I've only been drinking water.
Does anyone know if this is bothersome? I mean, Kool Aid with NO caffeine, and NO artificial sweeteners. It probably is, because the first ingredient is citric acid...does anyone know what I CAN drink, besides water? Thank you.
