  • Whole Wheat White Bread

Has anyone tried whole wheat white bread? I was wondering if that would be more tolerable that just plan whole wheat bread.

No problems here. I dont eat it very often because the texture bothers me; its not quite as soft as white bread--I'm finicky that way..haha

I would read the ingredients. I eat whole wheat that I get at Trader Joe's with no problem. I think the main culprit in most wheat bread (for me, at least) is that so many regular brands have soy flour in them, and soy almost kills me. Hope this helps.

I've been trying to find ANY kind of bread that would be good for me. On our list it says Potato bread is ok, but when I was in the grocery store, it had a million ingredients, and some of them weren't so good for me. I looked at all the breads and was shocked at all the ingredients in them and could not find ONE that seemed ok for me. So if you find any, please let me know, I'm dying for some bread! LOL.

I've been eating whole grain white bread and I really like it --- and it doesn't bother my bladder.

True! Trader Joe's is one of two places that I can find healthy whole wheat bread. Most, even thoughs called healthy, have corn syrup in them and other sugars. Very bad.

I now make my own whole wheat bread in my bread machine. My machine says it make 1 1/2 loaf so you may have to adjust. Recipe Just 4 cups Bob's Redmill stoned ground whole wheat flour, 2 cups water 85 degrees temp., 2 tsp.sea salt, 3 tsp bread machine yeast, 1 tsp. guargum this helps with rise and texture. Set machine on whole wheat setting. It is delicious and naturally sweet. The flour is important. Must be Stone ground and use Bob's Redmill if you can. It has a superior sweet taste.

                malted barley flour

I've found that it isn't the whole wheat flour, but the malted barley flour, that is found almost in every white all-purpose flour!!!! So, malted barley flour is the culprit for me, anyway. Malted barley flour is also in grape nuts, I wondered why I was flaring from grapenuts?? I first assumed it was the whole grain wheat flour, or yeast....it never occured to me that it might be the malted barley flour. So,...I cannot have anything made with all-purpose white flour, or any white flour, which usually contains the malted barley flour. But I CAN have whole wheat flour, which almost never contains malted barley, YAY!!!!

I use Whole Grain Spelt Bread from Berlin Natural Bakery. The only ingredients are: freshly stone-ground spelt flour, water, honey, yeast, and sea salt. I get it in the freezer section of Whole Foods. Spelt is supposed to be very good for you. I used to eat whole wheat bread all of the time before IC, but now I only eat things that are not fortified or have preservatives in them. I have found that most breads are made like that, so I stay away from them now.

                      Re: Whole Wheat White Bread

It is so much to do and to remember on this diet! I feel like I cannot eat much of anything!!!!!!! Everything hurts me I feel like. I am in so much pain right now, that I am afraid to eat even thing I can eat. Does anyone knows if coconut water is ok to drink? I am not a big fan of water (but I drink a lot just because I know it is importante) and something besides just water to help it would be nice, specially that I love coconut water.
                      Thank you.

                      Tatiana.

                        Re: Whole Wheat White Bread

I like Trader Joe's whole wheat bread (it's clean, and non processed), and Berlin Bakery makes a great spelt bread that is in the freezer section of my grocery. It is just 5 ingredients, and also non processed. I like it, because I can get what I want and then just keep the rest in the freezer.
