I have had IC for about three years now and in the past few months I have started getting severe heartburn. I have heard the capsule from Elmiron can cause this? Does anyone have any helpful suggestions? My heartburn is very severe now with pain in my stomach. I don't know why I would get such bad heartburn when I am not eating any acidic foods. Any help would be appreciated!

Have you tried emptying the elmiron capsule into water and taking it that way, discarding the empty capsule? Some ICers have found that the capsule itself is a problem.
