  • Are There Any IC Friendly Protein Powders?

I am having the weight loss surgery gastric bypass. For six weeks after my surgery I will be put on a liquid diet. Are there any IC friendly protein powders out there?

There is a product called Bene-Protein that you can look into. I haven't taken it since I was dx'd but I do take another one of their products called Bene-Calorie. It's made by the same people who make Bene-Fiber. It's hard to find in stores but it can be bought online. It comes in a very small packet and is easily mixed into basically anything. Like I said, I haven't tried it since dx but I have used it and like it a lot.
Katie-46 yr old female dx'd with IC after 15 years of symptoms off and on long term antibiotic use, GERD,IBS and now IC diet, gallbladder removed, endometrial ablation w/tubes tied
    Lexapro-20 mg
    Aciphex
    Ambien-as needed
Percocet-7.5 up to 3 per day as needed
    Valium-10 mg x2 per day
    Phenergan-1 at night
    Prelief w/everything
    Now recovering from acute pancreatitis

    Currents treatments that help somewhat:
    Heating pad
    Hot baths
    Ice
Being VERY still while lying down with legs elevated

Thank you I will look into it and check with my surgeon to make sure I can have it as part of my liquid diet.

I use a whey protein supplement. You can also find egg white protein supplements also. :-)

I'm on Elite Performance Premium Whey. So far I've only tried the BerryBlast flavor, but I guess there's also Strawberry, Vanilla, and Chocolate. It's good! I haven't had any problems with it. It actually gets me to drink more in a given day. Good luck!
