I would steer clear of vinegar - it's too acid. There are some "fake" sour creams out there - be sure to read labels - I haven't tried any of those. I can have small amounts of sour cream and mayo, but I was very cautious at the beginning. Both are on the "try it" list.

    Substitutes

Here's what I've found so far...
    • Lemon - I don't know of anything for the lemon.
    • Vinegar - someone suggested apple cider vinegar because when digested it is supposed to turn alkaline.
    • Mayo - make your own mayo with apple cider vinegar and whatever spices you want. Use the Fanny Flag recipe. It is so easy that it's almost crazy, but read all the info first. http://www.thenibble.com/reviews/mai...ise-recipe.asp
    • Paprika/Cajun seasoning - sorry, don't know about that one, I had to give it up
    • Sour Cream - two options here... try Daisy brand sour cream. No citric acid and a lot of people have said they can eat it. Another alternative is to use plain greek yogurt.
