I just read a recipe for low acid tomato made by stirring baking soda into the sauce once it has cooked. It is on a site called "Dr. Gourmet" and it was recommended for people with acid reflux who can't eat tomatoes. Has anyone tried this or heard of this. Before I experiment I thought I would see if anyone else out there has tried this before?

Hi Heidi,
I'm not familiar with the recipe you are referring to, but I remember reading on here once that someone was using bottled pink sauce and then adding some baking soda to cut the acid.
I guess you never know until you try. Sounds interesting, though.
If you DO try it, let us know how it is.
