So far besides whole milk, I have found natural pear juice in the produce section (just contains pears, and water, nothing else) is good over a glass full of ice. I found it in the produce section with the fancy bottled vegetable and fruit juices. Today I had a cup of hot water and a tablespoon of honey, that wasn't bad. I'm going to try the blueberry juice. I also use plain camomile tea. It's not great but better than drinking plain water all the time.
I do drink a cup or two of fresh brewed coffee every morning with about 1/4 of it being whole milk, no sugar, but have given up plain seltzer, which was my main drink for most of my adult life.

    Mint iced tea

Use herbal mint teabags to make iced tea. Make sure the tea is all peppermint and doesn't have any sneaky bad ingredients. I usually boil about 4 cups of water and then let 4 teabags steep in it for 15 or 20 minutes before I take them out. After the teabags are out add an equal amount of cold water or part cold water and part ice. If you want sweet tea add sugar to the hot tea before adding the cold water. It is very refreshing and good sweetened or unsweetened.

I haven't used root beer extract for years. It's available with the spices in most grocery stores. It doesn't take a lot because it's very concentrated --- it does take sugar, however.

Hint Blackberry and Hint Pear water are good for me. I get them in the ICN shop or at Whole Foods. I also order SmartJuice Pear Juice by the case and have it delivered to my house. It's really good with ice or mixed with carrot juice.
I also like to put pear juice or blueberry juice into the blender with ice and make a slushy drink, especially in the summer

    Root beer

    Donna-
Can you be more specific on the quantities for the root beer. I have tried root beer and let the fizz settle before drinking and was okay with it.

I can drink orange gatorade with no problems. I am not very diet sensitive with my IC though, so take that with a grain of salt! I know that some others can drink gatorade and not have problems as well.

When I was a little girl my mother made a root beer drink for us --- she just used root beer extract, water, and sugar --- no carbonation.

The only non-carbonated drink I have is blueberry juice. I have gotten to the point that I really like it and I put it in a wine glass or something really nice and it seems like a real treat. If you find anything else that works for you, please share it.
