I love the 98% fat free oscar mayer hot dogs that I used to eat before I found out I had IC. Has anyone had any luck with them or with the chicken frank hot dogs?

Hi, CBZ1982 ~ Oh how I love hot dogs....I'm still very afraid to try them though. Just thinking of them makes me want one! I'm sure someone here will have some info to help you out.

Yes, it's the meats with nitrates that will get you in trouble. Any kind of hot dog without nitrates should be fine. Be careful also with any kind of cured meats.Your Friend,

I use the Trader Joe's nitrite free hot dogs. Not bad and they don't seem to cause any problems for me.
I didn't know, however, that Oscar Mayer makes a nitrite free dog. I think I'll take a look at those.Comment

Eckrich makes a wonderful hotdog called 'smoked grillers'.. In the past this was my prefered brand. However, I tried one using the saur kraut made without vinegar and had a flair. I dont know what ingredient caused it. Will not use it again for myself.............just the famiy.Comment
