  • Pepperidge Farm 100% Natural Breads?

I'm having a hard time finding bread without problem ingredients like ascorbic acid and preservatives. Has anyone tried the Pepperidge Farm 100% Natural Breads? Are they safe to eat for ICers? I think one of the ingredients in them was distilled vinegar though. I don't really want to make my own bread nor do I have any sort of bread making machine, so I'm hoping I can find some IC safe, natural bread in the stores (if it's even possible).

I've had success with that brand, however now we have a bread machine and make our own bread and bagels. So easy and yummy... and we know there are no bad ingredients in it!

Hi there, My Mother gets Orowheat Country Potato, it is not without preservatives but it does not have the asorbic acid, she seems to do okay with it. We have yet to come across a bread in the super markets without preservatives, she also makes her own bread from time to time. Hope this helps, Caroyn M

        Pepperidge Farm bread

        Hi,
Trader Joe's own bread works for me. It has no preservatives, ascorbic acid, soy or vinegar.

Thank you, thank you!!! I will pass this on to my Mom, we have just started looking at every ingredient on lables to rid her of pain, this is such a God send! Are there any cereals you are able to eat from Trader Joes? Thank you so much, this is a blessing. I hope to hear more. Thanks so much, Carolyn

Trader Joe's has Gorilla Munch, which is pretty good. The regular grocery stores carry it too, in the organic section. It tastes like Kix. When I really had to watch what I ate, I would make a trail mix of gorilla munch, white chocolate chips, marshmallows and almonds. I ate that every day for a long time!

              pepperidge farm bread

              Hi,
For cereals I use Kashi Autumn Wheat which is sold at Giant and Whole Foods,(maybe other grocery stores as well), and Nature's Path organic corn flakes, from Whole Foods. Steel cut oatmeal works for me too, but some people have problems with oatmeal, so you might want to be careful with that one.

Thank you both so much, this will be a huge help for my Mom. It's super hard for her to even think when she's in pain as I'm sure it is for everyone who has IC. If she finds anything that works for her, I'll be sure to pass it along. Thanks again! Carolyn

Thanks everyone. I will have to visit Trader Joe's, I've never been there and there's two close by to me that I didn't even know about.
