  • The whole wheat question

The IC Diet sheet says that whole wheat bread is O.K. Since I figure it would be healthier than white bread, do all of you do just as good with it? (Assuming all the ingredients are IC safe, of course) Any whole wheat breads that you fine good for the IC Diet? I would like to find a good one in the store or bakery.

I have been making my own white bread in the bread maker. If I switch to a whole wheat recipe, should it be O.K?

    Thanks as always,
    Karen

Most ICers do fine with whole wheat. I do okay with white bread, but have to avoid the whole wheat.

      Donna,
Does your IC make you avoid it?

I'm okay with whole wheat but I mostly stick to white, just for the sake of safety. Some people have no problem with it at all.

Whole wheat fouls up my entire digestive system, including bowels and bladder.

I see, Donna. The food list says whole wheat bread (Ezikial). What about other brands of whole wheat (with good ingredients) Ezikial isn't whole wheat, is it? It seemed white to me.

MOST people with IC do just fine with whole wheat. I think I'm an exception.
