Prelief does not help with everything, so yes, even though you are taking it, the food can still irritate your bladder. For instance most people can tolerate Ranch dressing, not me, not even with prelief. However, I have been at a friends house for dinner and something with tomato sauce was served, so I popped several prelief and except for a mild increase in frequency for a few hours I was fine. Not that I recommend trying this. But sometimes in a pinch it can be very helpful, unfortunately for us, not always.

Grand ideas Mothergoose. Does our bladders really "HEAL" I Pray that might be true. I think Elmiron for me has put a slight layer in my bladder and therefore has calmed it down. Heal it, I doubt it. There seems to be other things that have helped many IC people but since Elmiron has worked for me I feel very blessed. The diet, antihistamines, pain pills for a bad flare has worked for me as well. We are all so different of course. My bladder felt better 4 months into the start of Elmiron. I have heard it can take as much as 7-8 months. I was so afraid of food when first diagnosed I think I was becoming mentally ill about it. It's hard to believe that things will get better in the begining but I really think there is much hope given time. Hugs, Ziggy
