  • Aspartame, Yeast and IC

I have had 2 yeast infections or just one that will not go away. I was taking an antibodic and then it all started, went away somewhat then I started drink this sugar free drink mix that contained aspartame and full force yeast. I quit dranking it and took my meds and it went away, I layed off the aspartame and now I am drinking it again and the infection is back I am wondering if anyone has had this promblem w/ aspartame before. I have even put plain yogurt up there YES it does help and HELP ALOT. I am bumfuzzled about this. I am gonna call my OBGYN tomorrow but I just wanted to see if anyone else had the aspartame yeast problem. Thanks.

I used to get frequent yeast infections- very very painful and annoying. I am not sure sure at all about thee asparatame yogurt connection. When I found out I was allergic to wheat and went off it, I have not had one singe yeast infection. Before that I was eating bread all of the time. I am wondering if you might try cutting back on bread since there is so much yeast in there? Please keep us updated if you find anything on yogurt too!

I have lots of problems with yeast so i try to follow the MEVY diet when i have an infection. Only eating meat, eggs, veggies and yogurt. I don't like yogurt so i take acidophilus. Drink lots of water also. Xylitol is a sugar that actually helps when you have a yeast infection. You can buy it at a health food store. Maybe you could try that. Hope you feel better soon.
