Hi just a quick question, if you eat something that causes you to have pain how quickly does it happen? Is it a few hours or next day? Thank you. I am so glad I found this place.

For me, a liquid can cause a flare within hours; solid food can take up to a day or two.

thanks Donna. I'm in severe pain today and I'm just trying to of course figure out what may have caused the pain. So i guess I will write down what I ate and just make sure I keep those eliminated.

The only thing I felt right away or within a couple hours was anything with caffeine or citrus. Other than those it always took a day or two for me to feel a reaction. It was hard to figure out what if any my food triggers were so I had to keep a food and liquid diary for a good while.
