Gluten free breads

    I buy Udi bread also. When I was first diagnosed with celiac disease 8 years ago, I would try baking my own bread. It didn't turn out so well. Doesn't mean you can't try. I would try recipes other folks said were good, but I just couldn't get the hang of baking it. I just think that most gluten-free food, except for pasta, tastes weird anyway and just do not eat most of it. The only specifically gluten-free products I buy are Udi bread, Van's waffles, Trader Joe's GF rice pasta, Blue Diamond almond crackers.

    Thanks Jen74. I bought that bread and it's not half bad actually. And I agree it's good toasted. It's just a bit costly. I checked out Whole Foods and Trader Joe's yesterday and the price is similar.

    I have been on a gluten free diet for over 4 years now. I buy a bread made by UDI's. It tastes really good,especially if you toast it. They do carry it at Whole Foods. Good Luck!

    Gluten free breads

    I just recently bought bread from Whole Foods that is gluten free. Actually, it's not that bad. The only problem is that it is quite expensive and it gets hard quickly. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good and inexpensive gluten free bread?

    Does anyone make their own bread? Gosh, I have no idea about these things. I do have a great vegetarian cookbook (for ideas about cooking veggies more), but I have like no idea how to do a gluten free diet or how to add healthy foods. The cookbook only includes wheat breads.

    This is a major adjustment to say the least. Before I ate a lot of pasta, cheeses and breads. And tomatoes were a staple food for me. Talk about a shock to my system. And not to mention I was a sugar addict.

    I hate to admit it, but I'm not a good cook.
