  • Holiday Dining

It's very, very close to Christmas and New Year celebrations --- let's share some strategies for enjoying holiday dining without flaring --- I'll start with some suggestions --- please add yours.

    1. Start your day with a healthy, 100% IC safe breakfast.
    2. Be sure to have some of your favorite treats on hand --- I bought some "ribbon" candy this week. It's a favorite childhood memory. And I'll make divinity this weekend.
    3. Don't be afraid to say, "No, thank you," with a smile, if offered a trigger food. You don't need to explain, especially if it's at a party.
    4. When invited to dinner, it's okay to tell them that you have some food sensitivities and ask if it's okay to bring a favorite dish to share. If you're unsure, have a snack before you go.
    5. It's okay to stick with ice water when others are drinking alcoholic beverages unless there's one you know is IC safe for YOU.

I think the most important thing is to remember that enjoying the company of friends is the primary goal.

My wish to everyone is to enjoy the holidays.

Spiced blueberries make a good substitute for cranberry sauce --- you can add your own spices and season to taste.
