  • Refrigerator Water Filtration Question.

Hey all. I bought a house recently that has a reverse osmosis system under the sink which works great for the spigot in the sink. Now...

The refrigerator is on the opposite side of the kitchen and the only way to reach it from the sink is to run the line out into the garage and back into the house. So that's what the previous owner had done. Except the line was zip-tied off.

Today I found out why he tied it off. The line was leaky. Long story short, I run a new line with new connectors and all. When I get to plug it into the back of the 'fridge, I notice a water supply right behind the freaking thing! How Long Do ZeroWater Filters Last

I'm assuming that he ghetto this job under the assumption that reverse osmosis would perform better (or he wanted it to, badly, because of the price).

This is a high-traffic area and I think this solution is hacky, ugly, and prone to damage. My question is: would the refrigerator filter suffice?

I wish I had an answer for you. Are you on a municipal water supply? If so, the water should be safe --- if it's a taste issue, you may just have to give it a try to see if it resolves that issue.
