  • Honeywell wine

I remember reading a post about a certain type of brand of wine that is soothing to those with IC. I just can't remember where I saw it. I believe the name of the wine company is honeywell and there is a peach wine that is soothing. I love drinking wine and have only tried a chardonnay recently but the fear of pain held me back from indulging. I'd like to be able to treat myself every once in a while to my beloved wine and am looking for some alternative. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Whitney

I don't recall reading of a soothing wine, but I know that peaches are rather acidic. From what I know chardonnay and blush wines seem to be ok. Maybe someone else will know of something. Remember to make sure that the alcohol doesn't interfere with any of your meds.

I very occasionally have a small glass of Honeywood peach wine. It's made in Salem, Oregon. If I'm feeling really good and haven't had any other possible trigger, one small glass is fine for me.

Have you tried blueberry wine? Here in Maine they make it locally, you can probably get it online. It's not too bad, there are many brands as well. They make wine out of everything, even heard of pear wine. And of course there are nitrate/nitrite organic wines. Sometimes that in itself can be a culprit.

I have tried Frey organic white table wine. This wine seems to be good as long as it is in moderations. I also found that eating before having wine helps as well as drinking milk (I drink almond milk) after a glass of wine helps too. I tried the milk idea my husband gave me and surprisingly it made a big difference.

            thanks, wine

Thanks for all the wine tips girls. Although I don't indulge very often I sure do miss joining in and a glass of wine to myself now and then.

Oh I wish there was something like a soothing wine. I sometimes so relish the thought on wine and miss it because I haven't had a taste of wine in almost a year now. I even got a champagne by post from a friend for my birthday but I couldn't drink it.

Is there any chance I could try one glass maybe?

You never know until you try.
I was visiting the in-laws, was quite stressed out from the journey to get there, and felt as though I was on the verge of a flare. After dinner, someone popped a bottle, and I took a small glass, weary of the results...which were just fine. I was amazed. I sipped on the glass for about an hour and was just fine, even had half a glass more! No nasty repercussions the next day either. Whew! Needed that. Best wishes.
