  • Pizza recipes anyone?

I am looking for a sauce to replace the tomato sauce on regular pizza. I love to make the bread crust but am stumped at what to use for the sauce.

Years ago Olive Garden resturant had listed on the menu a Cesar Salad Pizza that was very good. At that time I didn't have IC so didn't take note of what might have been used.
I can think of all kinds of toppings to use but I'm just not creative on whata to use for topping.

I make it with extra cheese and no sauce.

I do a nomato sauce. The basic sauce I do is as follows
1 14oz can of sweet potato puree(or you can do 1 1/2- 2 cups fresh cooked)
1 14 oz can of beets drained
1 14oz can of pears drained
1 cup pure pear juice(make sure IC friendly)
3 roasted red peppers(I coat them with olive oil then add oregano, garlic powder, basil, pepper, sea salt and whatever kind of seasoning you want and can tolerate. Use lots. Cook until tender then I put them in a container for 15 mins to loosen skin then I peel them.)

Put all of this in a blender and puree. I then add more seasonings to taste(I add all of the above again and keep tasting). Simmer on stove top for a while to increase the flavors. I then spread this on crust then add more oregano. It makes a geat tasting pizza sauce. I have also posted a Pizza recipe with a creamy garlic sauce that is also really good. Good luck I hope you like it.
Daughter your faith has made you well,go in peace, and be healed of your disease.(Mark 5:34)

        Tried:
Detrol:only took one pill and it made me sick
        Elmiron:caused horrible pain(took 1 week)
CystaQ:caused alot of burning and pain(only took one pill)
Wellbutrin:only on it for three days as it caused alot of bladder pain
Elavil:Took one pill and it caused a flare that lasted almost two weeks. It was the longest flare I've ever had. Never again..ouch
Prelief:made my bladder burn and feel tingly.

        Take:
        Uracyst:Started May 19 2011
Enablex:take one pill daily with no issues
        Naproxen:for pain as needed
Baking Soda with water:as needed and it's a God send. It brings down my pain within 20 mins.
Venofer: Started April 2012 by IV for low Iron. I do not tolerate oral Iron so this is the route I had to take.Does not bother my bladder but did have other side effects. I take Benedryl with each treatment to avoid side effects.
        Supplements:Whey Protein powder daily
Dessert Harvest Aloe It has been helping alot but I can only take it every two days as my "die off" reaction has been severe.

They probably used Ceasar dressing for the sauce(which is not IC friendly) and the toppings were probably bacon, parmesan and maybe chicken. Same stuff you would put in the salad. If there is one you are interested in making like a meat lovers or whatever just message me and I can give you ideas on how to make it. I am always looking for ways to eat the stuff I used to eat and love.

I like to do oil replacing the sauce with extra mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, fresh mushrooms, and roasted garlic

I usually go with no sauce or occasionally "extra extra light sauce" but I bet you could make a roasted red pepper pesto would be really good.

I don't know how pine nuts affect the bladder with IC but a basic red pepper pesto is easy - 3 medium red bell peppers, roasted until they are charred, cover with plastic wrap and let cool. Then peel the charred skins off, remove the stem and seeds.

Transfer to blender (or food processor), add 1/4 cup of whole basil leaves, and 1 (or 2) smashed garlic cloves. Puree/process until coarsely chopped. Then slowly add olive oil and puree until consistency has been reached. Season with salt.

I use a basil cashew pesto (without cheese) as the sauce and then add grilled chicken, a bit of crumbled feta and mozzarella to top it off.

                      Pizza recipie

                      Hey,
I just made a fantastic pizza last night and you can either make it mini on Natures own English muffins or you can make it whole on regular dough as a whole pizza depends on what you want to do. Last night I made them mini and it was so DELISH! Ill share

Cut each English muffin into half's and you should end up with 12 total. Put some Alfredo sauce on each one I put like a big spoon full (don't over do it though) then I add a spinach leaf on each, then one spoon full of ricotta cheese on each and then cooked chicken pieces on each and then layer each mini pizza with mozzarella cheese and put into the oven 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until the English muffins get a little crispy and it looks done on top. ENJOY! Best mini pizzas ever!

I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me Strength! Philippians 4:13 (He never gives us more then we can handle, even though it feels like we can't handle it He gives us continued strength to keep going.)

                      Short view of my story:
Trying to learn as much as I can. I'm 27 and married for 5 years and have Been trying for children for 4 years. Have never had health issues or infections before all this. I was diagnosed with a puitary tumor (non cancerous) 2 years ago found out by high prolactin levels and MRI. I took dostinex to shrink the puitary tumor for a little over 6 months it made the tumor smaller but didnt work with my body and caused alot of pain so I stopped that. Then last year in march 2011 I was diagnosed with a large cyst on my right ovary and had the cyst removed through laparoscopic surgery. And ever since then I've had these painful symptoms of infection, acidic burning pain, bladder spasms, frequent urination then I had a cystoscopy with hydrodistension and now newly diagnosed with IC Feb 1 2012 Also now diagnosed with Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. And currently in Physical therapy for that.

                      What im trying:
                      Elmiron 100mg 3 times a day
                      Vesicare 1 a day
Acidophilus pills 2 times a day
                      baking soda baths
                      IC diet
                      Prelief when needed
                      Muscle relaxer once a day

What Ive tried and no longer on or didnt work for me:
Reclipsen birth control for yeast infections... it helped that go away but caused me to get ovarian cysts.
Estrace for vaginal dryness didnt work for me caused me to be in pain.

Havent tried or been disgnosed with anything else yet. Still in waiting process of healing. It seems when my stress levels are down and I follow the diet very well it helps me alot. Im taking things one day at a time and trying my best.

This isn't exactly an answer but i like the Papa Murphy's pizza. It has olive oil, chicken, spinach?, artichoke hearts, (and I omit the sun-dried tomato). I think if there are enough good topping the sauce isn't missed as much. I also like mushroom and olive pizza with no sauce.
I've made sauces before with carrots instead of tomatoes. They are good - sweet.
