Red peppers make a great sauce. I roast mine in the broiler oven and blend with fresh garlic and olive oil in the blender and I like it better than tomato sauce. It's good on top of breaded eggplant.

I CANT WAIT to have spaggettie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
              28 yrs old,

I have little to no problems now with my bladder, unless I am very stressed out, I forget to take Elmiron for a few days, or I eat or drink something that I know is a trigger...(i.e) like eating a tomato or drinking tea.... Took a long time to get here, but it IS possible to feel good again I just want people who are new to know that IT CAN get better, and for every one person who is suffering, there are hundreds of others who feel GREAT because they have control of thier IC.

What Works: Tylenol 3's, Pyridium, Elmiron (Going on 4 years now!) HOT showers!!!

Medications/ Vitamins: Elmiron-100mg 4x's daily Tylenol 3's/Advil (flaring) Vitamin D, WILD salmon oil 4x gels in the morning, Women's ONE a DAY multivitamin (the gummy kind doesn't make me flare) and PROBIOTICS!

              Me in my graduation gown!

It's spaghetti with roasted red bell pepper sauce for dinner tonight! I had totally forgotten about using this for spaghetti sauce until I was reminded by this thread. I was just missing my spaghetti so much lately. I used to make bunches of it and freeze it when red peppers came in season locally. So glad I was reminded.

I tried this exactly to the recipe suggested and it turned out awful. I must have done something wrong, but it was tasteless watery and orange!

Hope others had better luck with it than I did!

                  Any advice?

                  Thanks,

The roasted red bell pepper sauce I make isn't as thick as a tomato sauce and it can be a little bland. I usually use a lot of oregano and fresh garlic and sometimes french thyme also. I can handle a lot of spice as long as it's not chipotle or hot peppers so I guess it depends on what spices you can tolerate. But overall the bell pepper sauce is usually thinner and milder than a tomato sauce.
