  • Soy sauce subsititute!

Coconut Secret - Coconut Aminos Soy-Free seasoning sauce! I just found this! Has anyone tried it? It's made of coconut tree sap and salt I believe. I'm excited! I'm going to be brave and try it! I'll let you all know if it leaves me crying in the corner. Haha

I have used this with no problem. I am just not sure it really tastes that great. I had gotten so used to just eating Asian food without it. Now the one in my refrigerator is getting old. I am sure it is still fine, but if it is more fermented, is it more acidic?

The best substitute for soy sauce I have found is plain old salt. I can't have a lot, but once in a while, I can use a little extra for a treat.

Yes I have used this as a substitute, it's not exactly like soy but it does work to at least simulate the taste. It's also a lot less salty than soy so I guess that's good

There is also this recipe in the recipe section that I thought was pretty good:
          Soy Sauce Substitute

          Ingredients:
          • 1 1/2 cups broth (vegetable or chicken)
          • 2 tablespoons of molasses
          • 1 tsp ground ginger
          • 1 clove of garlic, skin removed
          • 1/5 of an onion (yep, just a small amount)
          • 1 tsp salt

Recipe looks awesome too! I ate two blackberries and a strawberry yesterday and I'm paying for it, but when this flare is over that new sauce is on my list of next items to try. As far as plain old salt it can be pretty good on its own like at those Brazilian steak houses. My favorite place to eat with bladder issues! Texas de Brazil!

I'm the one who first posted the Soy Sauce substitute recipe. You listed the ingredients but not the directions. It may not be necessary for some but others may appreciate knowing it.
The recipe should also include the following:

              Directions:
              • Add all the ingredients together in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Reduce to about half the liquid
              • Remove the garlic and onion
              • Store in the fridge

I use it all the time along with no issues. You can even sprinkle it on popcorn
Daughter your faith has made you well,go in peace, and be healed of your disease.(Mark 5:34)

                Tried:
Detrol:only took one pill and it made me sick
                Elmiron:caused horrible pain(took 1 week)
CystaQ:caused alot of burning and pain(only took one pill)
Wellbutrin:only on it for three days as it caused alot of bladder pain
Elavil:Took one pill and it caused a flare that lasted almost two weeks. It was the longest flare I've ever had. Never again..ouch
Prelief:made my bladder burn and feel tingly.

                Take:

                Supplements:Whey Protein powder daily
Dessert Harvest Aloe It has been helping alot but I can only take it every two days as my "die off" reaction has been severe.

                  Bladderella,
I gotta tell you, this was a total game changer for me when I first was having to eliminate everything so I was so excited to have this recipe in my tool belt/recipe book to make things less bland. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am currently experimenting with Coconut Amino but I'm not quite certain if I will be able to tolerate it or not. I'll have to report back.

I also just purchased the coconut aminos but haven't tried it yet. I'd love to hear how you tolerate it.

As far as I can tell I am tolerating it well. Of course I am still careful and not saturating my meal in it but for a little "meal pick-me-up" its nice. Taste like it too and only 90 mg sodium vs soy sauce like 900+!

I bought some sea salt in a grinder --- just a little of the coarse grain salt is a delicious treat for me.
