I wouldn't take that much of a chance. I take Prelief if I'm not sure what's in a food, when we eat away from home, etc., but would not risk eating something really acidic even with the Prelief.

I use Prelief to allow myself to occasionally have things that would normally bother my bladder, such as a cup of real coffee. The coffee will still cause symptoms for me, they will just be minimized.
I've not dared to use Prelief with things that are major triggers for me - like orange juice and wine.

Hi!
Prelief is an over-the-counter supplement (calcium glycerophosphate) that takes the acid out of acidic foods and beverages. Acidic foods and beverages can cause heartburn/reflux, acidic foods can also irritate the bladder. Prelief works on the food (not on you) neutralizing the acid so that it doesn't irritate the bladder. When you sit down to eat, you take the Prelief right with the food/beverage.
Our recommended dosage is to take (at least) 2 Prelief tablets with each meal and snack. Prelief is taken with all meals, regardless of foods eaten, because while some foods are obviously acidic, other acidic foods are not readily recognizable as such.
I hope this is helpful.......
