does prelief interact with other drugs??

Hiya all,

I was wondering if any of you had heard/read anything about if Prelief interacts with any prescription drugs (making them less effective etc.). I was wondering because I take a lot of NSAIDS, take an iron supplement and keep ending up on antibiotics all of which irritate my stomach. I don't find that ulcer meds really help enough even when I'm taking the best ones on the market - my stomach lining is really shot and I'd be willing to try Prelief if I knew it wouldn't interact with other prescription drugs.

Dear Liisa:

Prelief does not interfere with any medications unless you are on a medication that is inhibited by calcium. Some antibiotics fall into that category and you might want to check with your pharmacist or physician if you are not sure.

Since it seems that Canadian pharmacists are in the dark about Prelief I'll ask you this question. Would Iron pills be affected by taking Prelief. I know there is a difference between heme and non-heme iron (sp?) and their adsorbtion, but I don't know if Prelief would cause them to be poorly absorbed (and considering my iron levels have been low for about 16 months now, I'd like to get some relief).

You should not take iron supplements and antacids or calcium supplements at the same time. It is best to space doses of these 2 products 1 to 2 hours apart, to get the full benefit from each medicine or dietary supplement.
