Canadians and Prelief

Betty,

I don't order Prelief through the internet because of the high duties imposed by Revenue Canada on imported goods through Canada Post. I don't want to pay $8 USD for something ($12 CDN) and then get stuck with $4 CDN or more in duty... I get my Mom or others in the US to get it for me, but when my Mom visits the US there is a limited amount of time she can devote to finding Prelief. The next time she goes to Vegas, she will be visiting the same pharmacy and she knows they'll order it for her - no problem.

I know a lot of Canadians aren't willing to try Prelief due to the excessive cost of getting it into the country - but I'm glad I did.

Hi Liisa and Betty.

If you need some prelief let me know. My son is coming down here early in November and can bring some back with him. You will have to pick it up from him in Cambridge, Ontario. I get it at Walmart at a cost of $9.95 which works out to be about $15 Canadian. I will check around to see if I can get it for less but so far that's what I have been paying for it. Although, my last bottle had a dollar off coupon on it.
Anyway, let me know.

Walmart is now selling Prelief on a rollback price of $8.34 if you purchase it right off the shelf (antacid section, second shelf from the bottom!

Thanks Betty, I will go and stock up. I love to hear that the prices are going down. Again if anyone in the Toronto area needs some brought up my son will be returning to Canada in the middle of November and he can bring this across as it states on the packaging that it is not a drug. I will buy it at the cheaper price and pass that on. If you want it you have to let me know so we can make arrangements for you to pick it up. He does not drive, but will be coming in to the Toronto airport and lives in the Cambridge area.

Just wondering if anyone has approached their local Walmart (in Canada) to see if Prelief could be brought in that way?

I'd like to try and ask at the one here but just wondering if anyone else has tried and how they made out.

Actually, the problem with Prelief in Canada as I understand it is that Health Canada hasn't allowed it in yet... of course the could do what Becel has done with their new margerine and bring it in anyways...

You'd think they would treat it the same as lactaide or beano sheesh!!! lol....

Oh well hopefully soon they will adjust their decision and let it in.
