  • Bladder Instillations / Another doctor wanting condition "reavaluated"

So it all started after I had my now almost 8 year old daughter, the symptoms, the pain, the food problems, you name it I've felt it...
Anyway I was diagnosed in 2012 first by a surgeons guestimation, then by a urologist specialist by scope of bladder. I recently had a really bad flare up that wasn't slowing down or showing any signs of possible help. My regular doctor wasn't in so I had no choice but to see someone else. Well this "someone else" decided I need to be "reavaluated" by a specialist again because in her mind she believes I don't have IC which I've been doing bladder Instillations for since being diagnosed... The reason she questioned it was because MY BLADDER DOESNT BLEED AND NEVER RARELY DID... so my question is does all ICers bladders bleed or is this lady stressing me out and causing me a flare up for nothing at all??

I'm glad you found the IC Network ---

Some people with interstitial cystitis do have bleeding, but not everyone does. It sounds like you got a valid diagnosis by the urologist you saw --- If you have concerns, you might want to see a specialist again.

    Warm welcoming hugs,
    Donna

Thank you for your reply and warm welcomes I have no clue what to think anymore about IC. I am a 25 year old girl, I don't have my parents or anyone to turn to for that matter. I use to be a CNA and because of IC I could no longer do the work... So I have another question that I've experienced... In some people with IC does activity bother their IC?? Such as a lot of work, lifting, on your feet a lot ect... Because NOW I'm being told it's all hormonal but in general I'm a very happy individual, I believe I couldn't be more blessed then the family I have today.

Yes, activity, being on my feet a lot, lifting --- can all cause me pain. I find that if I choose activities that provide smooth exercise (such as walking and swimming) are okay for me. If I am on my feet too long, resting for even five minutes can help. Lifting anything heavy is not something I can do.

Thank you for sharing your experiences as well. I had read on sites about symptoms and thought to myself how could they tell me that's not what I'm feeling when I'm the one feeling it when doing certain things... Well now I know someone who can relate and just cope with it how I know. I was really curious if something else might be wrong but now I feel like everything will be okay and it's all just the interstitial cystitis and hopefully they'll just listen to me and allow me to deal with my body the best ways I've learned how through out the years. Thank you for replying I appreciate you greatly!!! IC is very hard to cope with everyday is a different ball game so I give you best wishes and prayers for health through your journey thank you Donna
