I just had my 4th of 6 bladder instillations today. After my instill I went home and passed out. I was asleep for five hours before I finally woke up to empty my bladder. I was told by my doctor to only hold the instill for an hour. Will holding it for way longer than that cause more harm than good?

Re: Bladder instills question
It should be okay --- usually when they say to hold if for an hour, it's because they want the solution to be in your bladder for at least that long. Do you know what was in the solution?

Re: Bladder instills question
I worry about bladder installations....my daughter had 6 and after that she had to stop because she suspected she may have had a mild bladder infection. I'm actually glad she didn't have to go back. They didn't make a bit of difference the first time. In fact, in the back of my mind, it didn't feel right...I always suspect that anything invasive..being injected into the bladder could break down the tissues even more..When I hear of people going for multiple bladder distentions and urethral distentions, it makes my heart sink thinking about it. How can it be good? I know everyone is different and respond to different treatments but this just doesn't seem natural and right to me. Who is really profiting here? If more of us took the time to really look at the underlying causes of what may be happening in our bodies, it might make the world of difference. I'm just saying.
