  • Bladder Instillations

About 3 weeks past I had 3 rescue instillations. They did not go well. I got a little relief after the first one. However I had extreme scrotal pain after the next two.

I had my first regular instillation Friday. It was a disaster.Very frequent urination for several hours I think that was my last.

First of all, I'd like to say to the IC Network.

Do you know what was in the solution instilled? There can be different things that can be included. And the actual procedure of catheterization to do the instillation can be painful --- I have found that if I can manage to relax any time I am catheterized, it definitely helps.

    Sending healing wishes,
    Donna

Was the instillation heparin with lidocaine? Those calm things down for me very nicely. Although it doesn't just turn the pain off like a switch. It goes up and down usually after having received it.
