    Silver Nitrate instillations

    Does anyone have these done? I have them done about once a year. I can't get my doctor to do any other treatment and elmiron makes my hair fall out bad. Tammy

      When I was first diagnosed 36 years ago silver nitrate was commonly used to treat IC. It isn't used much any more. I was treated with it for several years --- the instillations were painful for several days, but seemed to help some.

          Are you still flaring? how long have you been on elmiron?
