I just had my third heparin instill done on Tuesday. This one hurt ALOT!! In addition, my stomach is now very swollen and I am having a lot of pain ( on top of the "normal" pain) in my pelvis, stomach and lower back. I am also constipated now, but not sure if there is a connection. Have any of these symptoms ever occured for any of you after an instill?

Hi, Sunbabe ~ I've had so many heparin instillations that I've now lost count but no, I've never experienced pain above the IC pain after an instill. I've never been one to be constipated in my life, but now at age 62 with this IC thing I'm more constipated than ever and that in itself aggravates my IC. (Haven't had an instill in 3 weeks so don't think it's related for me). I just feel like it was one new symptom after another for that first year.
Please hang in there and keep us posted how you're doing. Hope you find some answers. Wish I could have helped more.Never heard of IC til suspected....Never knew so many suffer from it. Praying for a cure.
