I had my second rescue instillation today. I did a little better with this one. The only issue was the fact that I leaked everywhere when I stood up. I would not stop leaking out for about 15 minutes. I also noticed when I went to the restroom the first few times it did not feel like razor blades this time....so that was good. Has anyone noticed that after these treatments that you have a harder time getting the urine flow started? I do and I am not sure if that is suppose to be that way???

For IC I use Elmiron, Elavil and Freeze dried Aloe Vera (it works likes Elmiron, but naturally)and Azo as needed. I also take Zegerid, Randitine for Barrett's Esophagus. (which causes me to have constant yeast infections!)I take Cymbalta for Neuopathy/Myopathy pain. I use the Climara patch for menopause symptoms. I'm on a very strict diet because of the IC, IBS and Gastric Bypass. I take Primal Defense Probiotics and whole food Iron.
I no longer have the awful urethral pain! I've been using MSM gel now for 4 mo. and haven't had a flare up or the urethra pain.....it's amazing stuff!!:woohoo: -
I leaked too for a long time afterwards trying to hold it in. In the beginning trying to get it started to pee was harder then now. My Uro told me it could be due to bladder spasms. Most of the time now I can hold it for 2 hours and pee fine afterwards. Glad it is helping and no more razor peeing.

The reason you leak when you stand up is probably because they are using something like lidocaine or marcaine, which can temporarily deaden the surface nerves in the urethra and bladder.

Yes, I think it has marcaine in it. That is kind of weird not being able to hold it in. I just hope these treatments make a difference

My bladder just couldn't hold it. When the first instill was done it was coming out as she was pouring it in. Wasn't due to the lidocaine. After a few months then I could. At first they had me lay on the table for 20 minutes. That way I wouldn't lose so much of it.Comment
