I use only marcaine in my instills, which does the same thing as lidocaine. Some days I use elmiron in them also. I would suggest you speak with your Dr if that is something you want to try.

Check with your MD. Dr. Dell said it was OK for me to do lidoacnie only during the herpair shortage. He had substituted Elmiron for heparin. The Elmiron was not effective in controlling my symptoms. The "lidocaine instills only" were not as effective as the ones that had heaprin for me.TREATMENT: PRN lidocaine/heparin Home Instillations since 2004

I tried marcaine & sodium bicarbonate without the heparin during the heparin recall. They only lasted as long as I had the instillation inside me. Once I voided it, the relief stopped. There's something about the heparin that makes them last longer for me.Kadi
