    Hi, I have the option to try this new clinical trial for AF-219. Im just wondering if anyone has or is doing the trial?

    It is the latest drug to block nerve pain...

      I am doing the phase 2 trial of this right now.
      IC my whole life. Diagnosed 9 years ago. 30-50 potty trips a day. Currently participating in AF219-005, a new drug study for IC. Hopeful for a cure.

            Thank you Donna. Hi Marie, I am only on week 2 of the trial. I don't think I receive the medicine or placebo until the 3rd week. They have to do a lot of testing first to make sure I can continue the process. Ill keep you updated though.

                I have had IC since early childhood. Am considering whether or not to get involved in the research trials. Does anyone know anything substantial about AF219? .....such as class of drug, pharmacology, action, etc.

                  Jill, I am participating in phase 2 right now. I will receive the study drug/ placebo this Friday. It is a non narcotic drug that is supposed to block the pain in p2x3 and p2x2/3 receptors. It is from Afferent pharmaceuticals. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me or follow my post Partcipating in New IC Drug. I'm trying to do an update every visit, so others will know what to expect from the whole process.
