Does anyone know much about this? I want to try it really bad but it is so expensive. I'm not sure I have the willpower to cut out all sugar, carbs, fruit, some veggies and other foods out of my diet- not sure how much is left to eat (or how good it is~ I kind of believe in balance). There is a product out there that I found that says it works without diet restrictions. With the IC and IBS I also have severe Vulvodynia that includes itching like I've never experienced before! I've had several cultures done without infection. There is no infection present. Anyone have experience with this? I hope to get some input. ~Ann

    Annie,
I have had flares like that with vulvadynia and it about drove me nuts..What I found that help me so much was an antihistmine, it seemed to calm the flare and helped with the itching, also cutting out your sugar while you are in a flare is a very good idea.. I dont understand why but sugar seems so make any flare I have worse and anything with yeast in it.. What my allergist said is even though I didnt have an yeast infection they tested me and I am allergic to most kinds of yeast, so my body reacts to it and flares everything.. This could be a possibility for you to.. Talk to your doctor about it and good luck...

Hi, thanks for the reply. I take Zyrtec. It desn't seem to do anything for the itching unfortunately.

I find that taking supplments for candida helps me....not so much with IC, but just feeling in better health. Helps with constipation too. (Hey! Anything that makes me feel better if fine with me!) I take Garden of Life (brand) Fungal Defense. It has two important ingredients to kill candida -- olive leaf extract and oregano extract, along with some probiotics. It is quite strong, so start with just half a tablet. BTW, you can have candida overgrowth without having it vaginally.

        Good luck,
        Darlene

Where else does Candida grow, if it's not in the vagina?

Candida is a fungus that is normally present on the skin and in mucous membranes such as the vagina, mouth, and rectum.

I also have read that it can grow in the gut. It can also become systemic and spread throughout much of the body.

I don't know about the treatment you are talking about. I also know you can have Yeast in your stomach as well. I am not a doctor but I figure it is worth the try.
A friend of mine recommended that I try Candidas by Enzymedica $22.00 , and with it to take Dr. Ohhira's Probiotic 12 Plus $44.95. I found them in The Vitamin Shoppe. You can look up the information on them at the Vitamin Shoppe site. I have to go for a colonoscopy next Wednesday, and I plan to start taking it on Thursday. If you want I can let you know when I am done if it worked. Unless someone has tried them with no results I would appreciate the feedback.
                  Thank You!

I've suffered for Chronic yeast infection for over 30 yrs. When I got the diagnosis for Neuropathy my husband read about Co Q-10. We bought some and since then I haven't had a yeast infection! It's expensive......but it works! It's great stuff!
