colors of urine?

    colors of urine?

    its been awhile back since ive read about this.wondering if anyone knows or has a link for this... what color is most peoples urine if they are properly hydrated and do not have an infection?does the smell vary (for healthy urine)?what are the normal ph levels?For colors, ive been clear,yellow,green,cloudy,and most recently red/orange but thats cuz of the pyridium. the pyridium kinda scared me cuz i couldnt tell if it was blood or red pyridium in my urine. i went off of it cuz the dye in it was irritating me there.any answers appreciated.thanx.
    Newly IC diagnosed as of February 2011.

    Medications I'm on that seem to work:
    Zoloft- one once a day
    Butrans pain patch 5 mcg (THANK GOD FOR WHOEVER INVENTED THIS!SO MUCH PAIN RELIEF ITS UNREAL,I AM IN NO PAIN AT ALL UNLESS I STRESS OR SCREW UP ON THE DIET)

    Failed Meds:
    Elmiron-after 4 months,digestive side effects got to be too much
    tramadol-allergic
    DMSO treatments(5-6)
    probiotics

    THERAPIES:gardening,cooking,IC Diet,Counseling,Lots of warm baths,stress reduction,heating pad or ice packs,meditation/deep breathing,listening to relaxing music,having fun on pain free days,drinking chamomile or peppermint tea,pelvic floor physical therapy
    AROMATHERAPY-candles,incense
    Village Naturals Aches and Pains Peppermint Bath Salts
    Johnson and Johnsons Lavender Melt Away Stress Body Wash/Lotion

    ACUPUNCTURE/HERBS
    Significant pain relief so far.

    MAY TRY:yoga,swimming/hydrotherapy and anti-candida diet if i can kick my sugar addiction

    when you are very hydrated your urine should be very light yellow, some things we eat or drink can affect the smell of urine

      Mine will turn a light amber if I don't drink a lot of water. I do two large swallows (Evian) every half hour (or so.)

      Only downside to drinking a lot of water is it goes right through me so I have to go to the potty all the time which is a problem if I won't be home that day.

      And a car trip? Yikes!

        I am careful to get enough water to drink. My urine is pale yellow.

          I noticed when I first started having IC symptoms about 4 yrs ago my urine had a stronger odor than what I had remembered in the past. As long as I drink plenty of water it stays a pale yellow to almost clear. The longer I go without drinking the darker yellow it get. I never could correlate the pain level to the various shades of the urine.

          Road trips....I used to love a good road trip. Now at the first thought of a road trip I think of torture. I won't drink for hrs on end because its embarrassing to tell your friends to pull over on the highway while you have to pee. And then the comment..."For as bad as you had to go to the bathroom, you didn't pee very much"...Ya well. Then I have to explain that I have a small bladder because I don't want to get into the whole IC thing. When I drive myself I always have a bottle with me to pee in while I'm driving. I've gotten really good at this believe it or not. Forget texting while driving..What about peeing into a cup while driving down the highway at 75 mph. I wonder if there's a law against that. I'm male by the way. It might be harder for the women and I wouldn't advise that unless you are really talented.
