  • Confused about apple cider vinegar

I have been reading about apple cider vinegar and how it can have an anti-inflammatory effect on the body and how it can also make urine more alkaline. Has anyone tried taking it for IC? It has been suggested to me that I could try taking it diluted in some hot water with honey. I have also been ready that lemon can make urine more alkaline so can be helpful???

Has anyone tried these things? Did they help? It seems to be the opposite of what is recommended in the IC diet?

Please don't do this! And if you do, do it in small amounts to see how you react. Most of us cannot tolerate such high acidic foods

I've noticed on labels of bread, english muffins, etc. that vinegar is one of the ingredients. Would the amount used be enough to cause a problem? It's a bit confusing as most breads are considered IC friendly.

I have read the same thing about the apple cider vinegar but there is no way I would even try it!!! About vinegar being in bread products, I guess it would depend on how diet sensitive you are. A little bit might not bother someone, but might bother someone else. Sometimes it’s just trial and error.

If you look at the IC diet food list, you'll find vinegar listed as something to avoid. I gave up a long time ago on trying to analyze why certain things cause my bladder to hurt --- if it hurts, I avoid it.
