Re: LiRIS 400 (lidocaine pretzel) trials are underway again!!

I am currently participating in the Liris study. The device was inserted Friday, April 25, 2014. I am in the first phase where 50% get the real thing and 50% get a placebo. 2nd phase starts in about 6 wks where we are all guaranteed to get the real thing. I am posting detailed accounts/updates of my experience whether good or bad. I did not notice the title to this thread, or I would have posted the story under this thread. I am posting these updates under the thread entitled, "Liris NEWS! TARIS launches Phase 2 started by Jill some time ago. Anyone interested can look under that thread for my entry dated April 26, 2014 by Lou Lou girl

    Donna,

OH BOY!! And I thought I had it rough!! You seem to stay so positive even in the face of all that! Praying for you. Sharon

Even at that, I don't quite make it --- I'm on 28 Norco a week plus 15 mg morphine daily via pain pump.

Thank you for being willing to participate --- maybe down the line it will be a better answer for me.

    Huuugs,
    Donna

Hi Donna, This is Sharon Davis. I saw your comment above about you "doubting that you would qualify for the Liris study because your on pain management. Well, I checked into one recruiting in NC and the lady said that participants were allowed "I think" as many as 20 doses a week of Oxycodone. Anyway, if you fall within those guidelines, at least in that particular study, pain meds don't necessarily disqualify you. I am first on the list to participate in the Liris trial at my local hospital. It is supposed to be coming soon. I don't know what the guidelines are going to be here. I think each study has their own rules. You might check on one nearest you. You might be surprised at what is allowed. Elmiron was also allowed in the one in NC. Just thought I'd let you know.

One of the good things about the trials is that those participating are closely followed medically. I would love to participate, but doubt I would qualify since I'm on a program with a Pain Management Specialist.

    Hugs,
    Donna

LiRIS 400 clinical trails are now recruiting again! I am trying to get into the clinical trial taking place in Glendora, Ca. I really hope I get in and this helps! If it works it would be a godsend for us suffering from this horrible affliction!

Here is the clinical trails website for it.
