I have terrible sinus congestion and need some relief. The problem is I have so many issues I don't know what to do. The congestion is just sitting in my sinus too thick to get it moving out. I would normally take a decongestant but they give me prostate problems. I thought about a nasal spray but the labels also say do not use with prostate problems. Here are my options as I see them. If you can give me any feedback or direction I would really appreciate it.
1. Advil - I'm not sure if it will do anything. Just thinking it may reduce the sinus inflammation. I'm not sure if it will affect my IC. I've been in very good IC situation for about 5 months now.
2. Guaifenesin (Mucinex) - It is supposed to loosen phlegm primarily in the chest, but I had an ENT tell me that it can help somewhat in the sinuses. The only problem is I don't know what it will do to my bladder? Anyone know?
3. Nasal Spray - I already know it will bother me somewhat.
4. Antibiotic - I have a history of clostridium difficile infection so this is always the last resort for me.
Any guidance or sharing of your experiences would be appreciated.
