  • He Prescribed Opana...

... I'm so nervous about taking it. I told my doctor that I was worried about taking this drug and he told me that Opana is no worse than Norco... I've heard otherwise, though... AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only way you will know if it will help you is if you try it. I know that is hard to do, as I am the same way when it comes to trying new meds. Maybe take the smallest dose possible. That is what I do. Is it possible to cut the pill in half at all? If so, you can even call the pharmacist and ask if it is possible for you to cut the pill in half. That is what I always do when taking a med for the first time. I always start out Sloooooooow.
Maybe it will really help you. Good Luck in whatever you decide.

Note from ICNDonna: Never cut a pill in half without first checking with your physician or pharmacist. Time relief medications can release the full dose immediately, which can be extremely dangerous.

      Andrea,

I am glad your Dr. was willing to give you something to help with the pain. I have never tried Opana, so I cant really give you any help there. But, I just wanted to write to tell you that I hope you have good luck with it and start feeling better soon.

      Hugs,
      Amy

Please don't cut these in half. This is an extended release med and will release a large dose of the medicine all at once which can be fatal at worst and make you very ill at best. Never cut a med in half unless you ask your pharmacist.

Yeah- I knew not to cut them. I have a very high tolerance for pain meds, so my dr. didn't even think I would respond to the minimum dosage. Thanks for the heads up.
