Yes, I tried Sanctura XR in the beginning. I didn't have much luck with the OAB drugs. They helped my urg & freq, but dried out my throat too much. I had trouble eating. We are all so different & you may be ok with them. Unfortunately it is all trial & error with this disease. Hope it works for you.

Hi, I just saw this thread. I have tried ditropan (oxybutynin) and vesicare both. I am now on the oxytrol patch because of side effects of the oral meds. They really do help with frequency and urgency but the dryness and constipation are hard to deal with for me. The oxytrol patch has virtually no side effects so I am pretty happy with it.

I tried some oab drugs in the beginning but I had retention from them. They did stop the frequency but then I had to strain to go and that caused major pain later.

        Cindi,
Use miralax for the constipation,it pulls water into the bowel to help. I am having the dried out problem with flexaril for my fibro and starting using the miralax again, it is helping a lot. It is also good for problems with pain meds

I appreciate the tip but unfortunately miralax and I do not get along. I don't know if its because I have IBS or what but I get a major bloated belly from it, its awful. Insoluble fiber and I are not friends unless its soluble I won't touch it. I try and eat beans every day, blueberries etc.

I Have found that if I take about 1,000mg of magnesium a day that offsets the constipation of anything I take.

I don't know what it could be, I have IBS to but mine is IBS-C that is why it helps. Magnesium, like good ol' milk of magnesia, I hate that stuff. At least you have something that works for you. For me, nothing works but Miralax. We really are all different, aren't we?
