  • Muscle Relaxers

    Hi!

I noticed an annoying thing about having IC. I can drink two bottles of water and my tummy will be visibly bloated and filled but when I go to pee, the smallest amount comes out.... and this is during a flare. I am 5'2, 100lbs and my belly pooches out. I took a soma muscle relaxer from an old prescription. It did the trick! I was able to pee it all out after about an hour. I also have a prescription for Flexeril with many many refills but I don't take it because I am fair skinned and live in San Diego and the flexeril causes me to burn easier. Are there any certain muscle relaxers than can me taken to help relax the bladder that are better than others?

I don't know which relaxants require limiting exposure to sunshine; I know the one I take for blood pressure requires some limits --- I use sunscreen a lot.

Your pharmacist may be able to help with some suggestions.

I take baclofen, it works very well and doesn't make me tired. I have never heard of flexeril causing problems with the sun, but everyone is different.
