  • Pyridium alternatives

    Hi,

    I'm allergic to Pyridium, unfortunately. Are there any alternatives out there that perform similarly? Prescription or non-prescription.

    March 2011-Symptoms began
    May 2011-Tentative diagnosis by OB/GYN
    October 2011-Confirmed diagnosis -- IC/PFD

    Current treatments:
    Elmiron- 300 mg (Began 12/11)
    Hydroxyzine- 50-75 mg (Began 7/11)
    Tizabidine- 2mg 3xTID, if needed (Began 12/11)
    IC Diet-Began 5/11
    Pelvic Floor Therapy-Began 12/11

    Current Supplements:
    Cystoprotek
    Magnesium
    Fish Oil
    Biotin

    Hi, I take Prosed DS because Pyridium does not sit well with me either. They no longer make the generic form of it, so it might be expensive. It does require a perscription. Instead of urinating orange, you are urinating blue so don't freak out at the change. I swear by this stuff!!!

    Currently taking:
    -Quercetin (twice a day)
    -D-Mannose (daily)
    -Calcium supplements (daily)
    -Cystex (as needed)
    -Lysene [mouth ulcers - genetic] (as needed)
    No longer taking:
    -CystaQ (too expensive)
    -Cystoprotek (flares worsened)
    -NuvaRing (irritated my womanly walls)
    -Lexapro (didn't work for me)

    -Rescue Instills: 8ml Heparin, 8ml Lidocaine, 3ml Sodium Bicarbonate
    -Xanax
    -Uribel
    -Desert Harvest Aloe Vera Personal Gele
