    diet

I can't have honey. I used to be able to have Agave but lately its bothering me. I can have soy milk. I don't drink it much but use it in rice checks type cereals. I have printed out the IC diets and bought books but 95% of the food I can't tolerate. I know what you mean about looking scarey thin. I am 5'7" and the last time I got weighed it was about 110 lbs. On the up side my family doctor said he never met anyone with an LDL as low and an HDL as high as mine. Its worse in the summer when I just want to cover up my skinny arms and legs.

Omg I agree about winter being better. I just want to cover up my skinny arms and legs. I'm 5'5 and weigh about 100. So we probably look a lot alike. Can you drink almond milk?

It's a liquid caloric additive that add 330 cal to every portion you use it with. Foods to use it with include mashed potatoes, oatmeal,, and pudding if you can tolerate it. It's tasteless when combined with foods but drinking it straight is just plain awful. I don't know if itmhas soy in it. But I usually buy it at Walgreens online and you can check the ingredients there!
          Good luck!!!

              almond milk

Katie B. I tried almond milk it was too high in sugar for me. I have stopped the Benicalorie for a while due to the flu, I didn't need any more nausea, I think the mashed potato idea was a good one though. I have found a good herbal tea by Davidson's, coconut vanilla.

We had a friend who was lactose intolerant. She tried raw whole cow's milk and could tolerate it just fine. Some states don't allow it, but maybe you have a farm around you? It is very rich and quite nutritious. Soy might be a part of your pain.

                  lactose introlerance

If I am allergic to soy is a very small part.. My IC is mostly frequency and urgency that occures with stress, acids, whole wheat, preservatives, dyes and exposure to cold. I haven't drank milk in 30 years. Even as a child way before IC, I had bad stomach aches with dairy. This was before people knew it was lactose intolerance. I get intense frequency and urgency that morphs into a yeast infection and goes straight up my urethra. I have to take Diflucan in low doses to keep my vulvodynia/yeast/ IC under a controlled chaos. In the summer when I can swim laps, and that's indoors, I can eat more forbidden foods. It would be dreamy to live in a warm climate with a private chef:woohoo:

Raw whole milk does contain lactose. Raw milk may not be a safe alternative --- back in the days before pasteurized and homogenized milk was available, lots of people got sick from drinking milk from cows that showed no signs of illness.

It's called undulant fever. I had to look that one up. Humans can get it by drinking milk from a cow with brucellosis. That's only one of the diseases it's possible to get from raw milk.
