  • More Interstim Questions...

First of all, thank you all of you who are providing me with such invaluable information and comforting me through this whole process. I have basically decided that I AM going to have the test trial. When I watched the video they stated that the patient should not be on any muscle relaxants during the test trial or the implant b/c it will interfere with the muscle response. Does this include benzos (ativan/valium) b/c I take one or the other everyday twice a day and would probably be unable to empty my bladder at all and be in horrible disconfort w/o them. Also, would I be able to take the ativan/valium and my urised when I do my pre-trial and trial voiding logs? Or do they want you to be basically med-free which I do not think I could tolerate for more than a day. Finally, how many of you had the test leads implanted with the use of a fluoroscopy? Thank you all soooooo much again!!!! I always know I can come here for support and information. I hope everyone's having a good day

Nancy~ask your uro about the ativan. I took one before I went, not knowing you weren't suppose to (this is the 1st I've heard of it). I have severe panic attacks and I KNEW I wouldn't make it thru the trial without the medication.

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".

Well my uro said that I could use the Ativan when I do my voiding log before the trial and during but that I couldn't take any right before the procedure b/c it could mask muscle activity. But he said I could take one right afterwards. How anxiety provoking
